Hungarian consul in Riyadh replaced after suspicious growth of issued EU visas
Hungarian consulate in Riyadh, Saudi-Arabia issued 2190 EU visas in 2012 which is five times more than the previous year’s number. Compared to such activities in consulates placed in neighbouring countries, the unprecedented growth raises suspicions of fraud. Ministry of Foreign Affairs was unable to give us a certain explanation to this number, and also to the recent replacement of Consul András Horváth by István Krizsák. According to our freedom of information requests, the numbers of issued visas are also growing in Abu-Dhabi, Doha and Kuwait, but with much smaller percentages.
