Money launderer threatened after we interviewed him

The recently released former boss of a company involved in a 1.2 billion forints money-laundering case has been warned of being buried “deep under the ground” if he continues to speak about the matter in public.

Tibor Simon said his comments on atlatszo.hu regarding the reopened investigation, which implicates several company executives, had prompted threats on his life.

Simon, who spent three years in prison for money laundering, added that he has reported the threats to the police but received no response.
