Gábor Szőllősi, member of Hungarian Civil Liberties Union’s Roma Program was attacked and hit several times in a bus stop on 14th March. Szőllősi was called to meet a TV crew to film an interview but it proved to be a trick to get the activist away from his home. Szőllősi’s work as a human rights defender faces constant difficulties as Érpatak is led by the far-right mayor Mihály Zoltán Orosz.
