Attila Mong: Kádár’s credit
New book of Attila Mong, journalist at Atlatszo.hu and current John S. Knight journalism fellow at Stanford University will be available in the bookstores before Christmas. His new publication investigates the relationship of the Hungarian communist regime and the International Monetary Fund within the years 1956 – 1990. ‘Kádár’s Credit’ gives an in-depth view to the background of secret negotiations which led to the socialist country’s affiliation to the IMF in 1982. Mong reveals classified state security documents and internal notes from the IMF and unfolds the strongly-hidden secrets of the communist party headquarters.
