Ministry of Foreign Affairs classified list of employees
According to Budapest Metropolitan Court’s first degree verdict, Ministry of Foreign Affairs should obey the law and publish its employees list in Magyar Közlöny, governmental judiciary monthly. We took legal actions against the Ministry after rejecting our FOIA request to know what personnel the institution works with. To evade their legal obligations, the Ministry appealed to the Budapest Metropolitan Court, and classified all the questioned data before the hearing. This legal trick was enough to enforce a second-degree verdict that suits their taste and allows them to avoid the publication of the employees lists. We think this method is against freedom of information rights, therefore we will file a complaint of constitutional law to the Constitutional Court.
