State capture: interest groups in legislative, monitoring and decision making areas

According to Transparency International’s new country report, Hungarian corruption has stepped onto an other level. State capture, this new phenomenon which describes the overcoming rule of private interest on common good leads the present politics, TI say. Atlatszo.hu’s investigation has found four major groups connected to the government and each other in private and state companies, as well as in legislative, monitoring and decision making areas. Although well-known interest groups belong to Lajos Simicska and Zsolt Nyerges, some others have their own former colleagues in governmental or should-be-independent institutions.
