A new grant program by the US State Department appears to be designed to fund the European network of right-wing think tanks and influence groups that the Orbán governments have spent a fortune to cultivate.

Danube Institute, a center of Viktor Orbán's international unfluence network, cited “safety concerns” and “right to privacy” to keep high-paying government-funded contracts anonymous.

Contracts seen by Atlatszo show that the publicly funded Danube Institute's activities may be in violation of US law that regulate foreign lobbies.
