Prosecution suspects party treasurer’s involvement in high level corruption case
Atlatszo.hu published leaked documents from the Central Investigative Prosecution Office on the prosecution related to the investigation of the case of István Hagyó. Hagyó is the former socialist Deputy Mayor of Budapest, he was arrested in 2010 on corruption charges. The leaked documents: 2007 and 2008 diaries of Hagyó’s lawyer, Iván Horváth are illustrative; prosecution suspects that the lawyer directly supervised the managers of Budapest public utility companies, including public procurement and investment decisions. There are remarks about advertising space, energy tender, cleaning, security services, right of common and severance pay etc. The name “Puch” is mentioned several times in the confiscated diary, prosecution suspects that this refers to László Puch, MP of the hungarian Socialist Party, who was the party’s treasurer that time.
