Budapest Court ordered MTVA to publish dubious contract
1
Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund (MTVA), the government body in charge of the financial management of the state owned, public service media channels, responsible for the budget of public service broadcasts lost a lawsuit over our FOIA request last week. MTVA tends to refuse every FOIA requests, as it happened with the request discussing contracts and other documents of Marslakók, a failed TV series produced by László Jáksó. While MTVA continuously claimed the disclosure of these data would harm their trade secrets, the court did not accept their reasoning. According to Budapest Tribunal’s first-degree verdict, MTVA must respond to the FOIA request within 15 workdays.
