Andy Vajna showing off with nonexistent contracts
Andrew G. Vajna, a former Hollywood producer – and a government commissioner on film in Viktor Orbán’s cabinet since last year – has been showing off to a popular tabloid in mid-February stating that he concluded agreements with Hollywood stars Joe Eszterhas and Oliver Stone on a course offered to Hungarian filmmakers. Well, he didn’t. After a freedom of information request, the director state-owned company responsible for institutional background of state-subsidized movie-making – Magyar Nemzeti Filmalap Közhasznú Nonprofit Zrt. – has informed Atlatszo.hu that there were no such agreements as of late February.
